The Baseline: Perfection is Engineered

In May 2026, I cleared the Microsoft PL-900 (Power Platform Fundamentals) exam with a maximum score of 1000/1000. While PL-900 is foundational, achieving a perfect score wasn’t just about reading the documentation—it was about dissecting and understanding the core architectural philosophy Microsoft is establishing.

I approach engineering and personal growth with the exact same mindset: a love for high-level competition and an absolute refusal to lose. That intensity is now entirely directed at my next technical target: the PL-400 Power Platform Developer certification.

Why PL-400? Bridging the Enterprise Gap

Working deep in the trenches as a Senior Technical Architect specializing in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and X++, I’ve seen firsthand how chaotic enterprise business logic can become. D365 F&O is an absolute powerhouse for heavy lifting, but modern enterprises demand rapid, seamless integrations and automated pipelines that don’t bloat the core ERP.

The Power Platform is the bridge.

PL-400 is the threshold where development stops being about simple drag-and-drop interfaces and transitions into serious software engineering. My current preparation is heavily focused on the technical backend:

  • Extending Dataverse: Engineering robust C# plug-ins and custom workflow activities that execute complex, server-side business logic.
  • Custom Connectors: Architecting scalable APIs that securely connect legacy on-premise infrastructure with the modern cloud environment.
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM): Implementing zero-touch CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform solutions utilizing Azure DevOps.
  • PCF (Power Apps Component Framework): Building custom, high-performance UI components using TypeScript and React to replace standard, unoptimized controls.

The Execution Strategy

Merely passing the exam is not the objective; mastering the underlying systems is. I am treating the PL-400 preparation exactly like a D365 F&O enterprise implementation: breaking down requirements, building Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and brutally stress-testing the architecture.
